I had been back in the United States for 6 weeks, 6 weeks!! Long enough to get back into the groove of living in the U.S. I so enjoyed my time. Time with family, friends, and work friends. Time to enjoy the immense times in the sun. Time to get use to the conveniences (too many to go into). Not enough time to get use to the food proportions - thank goodness.
Now I"m back. Immediately had to get use to walking everywhere - to work, to the grocery store, to the Thai takeaway place - but it was nice to be active again. The lack of sunshine, however, is something I can't get use to yet. Dismal skies with short days. Only when there's snow falling does it make it more bearable. On the other hand, it's good to see friends here. I've missed them.
So it's Saturday which means laundry time. One thing I so so loved in the U.S. was the absolute luxury of having a washer and dryer in the house. I simply decided to wash something and 30 seconds later (depending on how fast I could walk down the hallway), I had my clothes loaded and going. Luckily I had forgotten to move my "placeholder" on the laundry board here so I had prime time for laundry today. So here's the four machines I get to use once a week. In some sort of weird way, I was glad to be back in the rountine again.
