Off topic totally

This post has nothing to do with Sweden nor Christmas but I wanted to share the proof that I CAN take care of that oh-so-complicated orchid. This orchid was given to me by a friend and I immediately panicked that such a complex plant in my care would surely meet its demise under my care. I am happy to report that it's still alive and kicking and amazingly on it's second round of flowers.

What has become a tradition

Thanks to my friend Ingrid who first invited me three Christmas seasons ago, attending the Christmas concert at City Hall is now considered a tradition. It's a beautiful setting, the blue room at City Hall where the Nobel Prize dinner takes place. The choir is just gorgeous - especially with no instruments. They sing mostly in Swedish but I can recognize by the music familiar Christmas hymns. Of course the lighting adds that extra touch. It's always a great way to kick off the Christmas season.

I must be in Sweden

Walking the other day doing a little bit of Christmas shopping and came across this advertsiement. Have never seen Santa portrayed this way. It's an advertisement for let's just say, items of an intimate nature. My image of Santa has forever changed.
