Another snowy day in Stockholm

And the snow keeps coming down. It's interesting how whenever it snowed in Texas you just didn't do much outside. Here you have no choice. Snow or no snow you get out in the elements if you want for instance more milk or you have to pick up your dry cleaning. I went and exercised in it. The snow makes exercise a little more fun and more challenging. I personally love the snow but then again, I grew up in Texas so it's still a novelty to me. Ask any of my friends that are from here and they hate it. Hate it hate it hate it. They are longing for spring. To me spring means the few tolerable days before untolerable Texas heat. Give me a few more winters here and I am sure I would feel the same.

Special guests today

I have a couple of special guests today. This is the effect of the combination of the denim chair and Sponge Bob - two five year olds totally still.

A little time away

For the past few days, I have had the pleasure of being in Barcelona on business. I love Barcelona. It's beautiful. Truly ancient buildings, the sea, the beautiful apartments, the language, the people. It's just got a great vibe. I also enjoyed the almost non-stop sunshine.

What a difference a couple of months make

You've seen a picture of the view I have from the bridge I take to my walking/running trail. Took another one today thinking what a contrast there is here in the seasons. I enjoy the changes of the seasons here. (Guess which one was taken today)

Happy Valentine's Day from Stockholm

I love the way they do designs in the lattes here. I ordered a latte today for lunch and this is what I received. I've seen delicate flower designs done with milk as well. I need to learn how to do that.

Did it again!

Every once in a while, I miss cooking a nice dinner. It's hard to get motivated to go to the trouble when it's for one. Well today I decided to cook and once again, I cooked enough for ten. It's a yummy pasta recipe I came across browsing the internet. I will have to share it with my family next time I'm back home. Also random picture - this is my favorite part of the kitchen - want one of these wherever I live.

Valentine's Day in Stockholm

For a while, Valentine's Day wasn't a big deal here in Stockholm but I've noticed an increase in it's observance in my almost 10 years of going back and forth. Nothing compared to the U.S. which makes you feel abnormal/loser/wierd (your choice of adjective) if you happen to not have a "valentine" to celebrate the day with. At least here, I can get through the blessed day a little more easily. This particular picture was taken at the driving school next door - a driving school with Valentine's Day decoration - it's getting a little out of hand don't you think.

What is it about bridal dresses

I live two doors down from a bridal shop and everytime I pass by the window, I have to peek in to see the latest wedding dresses. I can't help myself. There are some really beautiful ones, some strange ones, and "they still wear that?" ones. Can't speak for most females, but there's something about wedding dresses that make you pause for a minute. Plus being that my daughter is getting married in June, it's a topic that hits close to home. If you peek into the store, you'll notice all sorts of shoes off at the front door - wouldn't want any of the mucky snow/mud getting on those beautiful dresses.

Where is everybody?

This was taken at 6:00 pm on a Friday. Everyone had cleared out from work long ago. I need to learn how to do that. I was last one to leave the office AGAIN. (well at least the last one in my area)

A nice gesture I think

Seems like if you lose a glove, hat, scarf, etc people don't just leave it on the ground for it to become gross and not "wantable" but instead put it somewhere were the person who lost the article can come back and find it in decent condition. I don't know I just notice it walking around - a little one's glove here, a scarf there - just waiting for it's owner to come retrieve. A nice gesture.

p.s. sorry for not posting much this past week. It was one intense week.

If only someone in the family would have another baby

This post is for my brothers - not sure if they even see this blog but just in case. I pass by this store everyday. It's all things Rasta-related. This window display always catches my attention. I am really wanting to buy a Marley onesie for a little one in the family but there are no more little babies in the family. Unless... Amber? No pressure or anything.

Pretty flowers for a dreary day

We've been without sunshine for a while. It did come out for about one hour yesterday and everyone jumped outside to enjoy it. But it's these kind of things - a beautiful flower shop - that help you get through the days.
