We took advantage of the nice sunny day and visited Drottingholm which is the official residence of the royal family. It's quite beautiful. This is the fourth time I've been and our tour guide was the best so far. Learned more about the place in the first five minutes than all the other times combined. I'm still pondering about the fact that a soldier (approximately 13 or 14 years old) would sleep in the king's quarters to protect him. Gives you pause. Sorry to sully the past of the royal family but come on, how much protection could the kid provide?

looking out my window
I was asked what I saw out of my window and here it is. Adrian took this shot just as the sun was hitting the gold building really making it glow. The picture unfortunately doesn't do it justice. My flat is on a busy street so it's fairly noisy when you have the windows open (which you have to from time to time as there is no air conditioner). At least I won't feel isolated during the winter with life going on outside.

Adrian the photographer
Adrian loves Stockholm City Hall (Stadshuset). it's her favorite building and has to be one of mine as well. She took this shot the other day. Thought the lighting and the statue with the bird on its head was funny.
